Cruise Control Issue with 1994 Suburban 6.5L Diesel

I hope you can help me with a question about my 1994 Suburban diesel; when I am driving on cruise control, it will sometimes get into a chugalug situation. When it does this, it is like you are punching the throttle up and down. I have to turn off the cruise to get it to stop this jerking. It can be especially bad when going down a grade, even a minor one. My dealer has already replaced the multi-switch that turns it on as well as the speed sensor and the engine controller computer box. While all this cost plenty, none of it made any difference. There is no change and I am out of options. Any help is welcome. Thanks Tommy.
